Sid Kidman planted the first vines on his family property in 1971 and has been managing the vineyard ever since.

The vineyards form part of the famous Coonawarra district, which is located in the south east corner of South Australia.

The vineyard has grown to 17 hectares and currently supplies grapes for the Kidman range of wines. The vines are hand pruned which enhances the probability of low yields, enabling minimum interference in vine management.

The Cellar Door is housed in the old stables on the Kidman property Limestone Ridge. The stables were built in 1859 and are a great link with the districts history.

The wines produced are: Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc.

Our philosophy is to produce wines that require little alteration. We strive for the balance between natural acid and full fruit flavour. Wines with these characteristics have contributed to Coonawarra’s world wide fame.

The company is now run by Suzie and Sid Kidman who have been recently joined by their son George. He becomes the fourth generation of the Kidman family to farm at Limestone Ridge. With George returning, the long term future of the wine business is assured and we look forward with confidence to our wines gaining further acumen.
